Today, while searching for “blog ranking” on Google, I came to a nice site that offers unique blog ranking system based on their own nice algorithm. The site is tagOOn™. It’s a place for readers/bloggers where you will find everything on the same site. It consists of Digg Live monitor showing popular and upcoming stories. This information is available on the homepage and is updated live as it happens on digg.com and the changes are also instant without your need of refreshing the page.

Other features are automated tagging, live blog information and live blog authors ranking system.

The best thing that impressed me is their blog ranking system, which I will be discussing below.

tagOOn™ ranking is a unique system to show the blog readers/visitors about how popular your blog is. For this you must have an account on technorati. It uses the API services provided by technorati to track the blogging activities of blogs. The ranking system calculates all incoming links from different sites to a particular tagOOn™ registered blog within seconds and that data is used to generate tagOOn™ ranking according to their algorithm – sorry I don’t know the algorithm J

And this is how it collects blog information, user profiles, blog linking information, youtube videos and search results. To show the tagOOn™ ranking on a particular blog, the registered blogger have to put their badge at a visible place on their blog.

 It’s simple to add the tagOOn™ badge. Just add the HTML code provided on their site to your blog template where it needs to be appeared. There are various nice looking badges are available on their site to choose from.

So if you are a blogger, I recommend you to register on technorati, tagOOn™ and then insert their badge. You can see in the right sidebar that I have also added their ranking system badge.
